We collect information you provide directly (for example: name, email address, and account preferences), information about your activity in the app (saved favorites, redemptions, and searches), device and usage data (device type, OS version, IP address, browser), and approximate location when you grant permission. We also collect diagnostic and analytics data to improve the service.
We use your information to provide and improve the service: to show nearby deals, process redemptions, deliver opt-in notifications, provide customer support, analyze and improve features, and prevent fraud or abuse. We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics and reporting. We do not sell your personal information.
Location data is used to calculate distances to restaurants and to surface nearby deals. Location is requested only with your consent and can be changed or revoked in your device or browser settings at any time. We store only the minimum location detail required for the feature (typically an approximate geohash or rounded coordinates).
We share data with third-party service providers strictly to operate the platform (for example: hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payment processors). Where we share data with restaurants, it is provided in aggregate or anonymized form so that individual users cannot be identified. We may disclose information if required by law or to respond to legal requests, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required).
You may access, correct, export, or request deletion of your account data. To make a request, contact privacy@yumbitez.app and include the email address associated with your account. Depending on your jurisdiction, additional rights may apply (for example: PIPEDA in Canada or GDPR in the European Union). We will respond to verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls. While we strive to protect data, no security system is impenetrable. We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the service and to comply with legal obligations; retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
The service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe we have collected such information, please contact us at privacy@yumbitez.app and we will take steps to delete it.
We use third-party providers (for example mapping, analytics, and hosting) who have their own privacy practices. Examples include Mapbox and Supabase; please review their privacy policies if you have questions about how they handle data. We are not responsible for third-party policies or practices.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post a prominent notice in the app or notify you by the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
